Kentwood Grill on Deck"Well Dansons you have successfully replaced my extensive bbq and grill collection with your Louisiana Kentwood bbq. Let me explain. I have been long fascinated with BBQ’s and have been in pursuit of the perfect outdoor cooking station with the hottest grill and smokiest briquette bbq all in one. I purchased my first Weber gas grill years ago and quickly replaced it with an Iron works commercial stainless steel 36”Top grill, it sizzled. Over time I found I was missing the fire/briquette flavour that was achieved cooking over a campfire or kettle bbq and became dissatisfied solely with the gas grill taste.

BBQ number 2 showed up soon after this realization, a Weber kettle one touch. My BBQ collection was complete, or so I thought. Between the two I had the speed of the natural gas grill and the flavour of the briquette. It did not take long for dissatisfaction to set in once again. The cost of briquettes accompanied by the arduous task of starting the coals, waiting for this kettle to heat to temperature and then monitor my dinner for temperature and flare ups was less fun than expected. Time consumption like this meant old fashioned bbq dinners would have to wait till the long weekend, day off or long summer evening.

So one day I’m in the hardware store and they have a Napoleon quick start chimney style bbq, it appeared to once again be the answer in BBQ number three. Well it was great for the smoky bbq flavoured dinners for two but for a group there was not enough grill space. By this time I’m running out of deck space and my wife is far from pleased with the collection of three grills, although I did appear to have all my cooking needs covered.

Then on the internet one day I see a pellet bbq offering real down south slow smoke cooking and real grill temperatures well over 450 degrees . Temperatures reaching 600 degrees were possible much like I was used to with my Iron works grill. The Danson grill also proudly advertised using wood pellets for fuel for that economical smoky outdoor flavour. Excitedly I purchased the Louisiana Kentwood Grill, filled it full of hickory pellets and started cooking. First up was a steak on high WOW. Next experiment was a 10 lb pork butt roast. I filled the hopper full with apple pellets and went out for the day. The best pulled pork ever was the result after a nine hour sweet smoke cook time. My neighbour brought home some salmon from a fishing trip and I happily volunteered to smoke some for 3 hours. I gave a piece back to my neighbour and he couldn’t believe how subtle the smoke flavour and moist the salmon was. The next night I smoked some pork side ribs for 3 hours- oh my word- were they tender and juicy. The following evening I bbq’d some corn in the husk and other veggies, added some lamb chops and had two small loaf pans with a peach crumble dessert on the back of the grill. All turned out great! Everything cooked evenly and the peaches picked up a little of the apple smoke because I left them on the grill on low till well after dinner then serving them over soft vanilla ice cream- absolutely awesome. One more positive note after all that preheating, smoking, cooking and grilling I only used about 10 lbs or half a bag of pellets. Cheaper then gas or briquettes and no flare ups-a dream come true. To say I am pleased with my new purchase is an under statement, my wife keeps commenting on the deck space and with the easy push start, fancies herself quite the bbq chef. Thanks again for making the last bbq grill I will ever have to own."

"At first I didn't know how a pellet BBQ could make that much difference in the quality of my meals. To me, it seemed like simply an interesting contraption to show my friends and family, more of a conversation piece and an envrionmentally friendly alternative to propane or gas.

In the past year, I have become a believer. I have been able to cook hamburgers, smokies, steak, pork and even turkey on the Louisiana Grill and what a difference it has made! My burgers stay so juicy and my steaks are succulent without fail. And when I cooked this year's Christmas turkey on it, I had most people tell me it was the most delicious, moist turkey they had ever had (plus it kept my oven freed up!). Although I'd like to attribute these new found accolades on my BBQing skills, the truth is it's in the barbecue itself.

Thank you, Louisiana Grills!"

"To Dansons Group,

At the end of January we bought the Kentwood stainless steel pellet grill for demonstrations in front of our store. Now we don't have to wait for spring to grill out. We pre-heat the grill by pushing the start button, wait about 7-10 minutes, return to put the food on and walk away. When it's busy in the store I don't have to worry about flare ups and burning the food. With the indirect convection heat the flare ups are eliminated. I can grill anything I want: bacon, breakfast sausages, dinner rolls, pizza, etc.

To vary the temperature, all I do is turn the dial on the control board. The thermometer on the cover is a nice reference for the temperature.

I cook different food at different temps such as pork and fish; these I cook at 325-350 and steaks at 450. So no matter what I cook the food is juicy and delicious.

I cooked on gas, charcoal and electric. With a pellet barbecue, I get the convenience of gas and the flavor of cooking over wood. I smoked a turkey on the grill and left it for FOUR HOURS; when I came back, it was the exceptionally juicy. If I would have cooked it on gas I would have had to watch it much more closely. I helped customers and went on deliveries, forgetting it was there!

The auger motor and components are the same as in your pellet stove which are designed to run all winter long. I know it will last for years.

In the retail business I always try to find products that my customers will like, have few problems with and have positive feedback about. So they talk about it with their friends and they buy one. I am confident that the Louisiana Grills wood pellet bbq will be another product that they enjoy.

Thank you for a wonderful grill."

"Being a long time Traeger user, I thought nothing would out-grill, out-smoke and be as efficient. The flavor derived from pellet grill technology in incomparable. Then, while searching the Net, I discovered Louisiana Grills, studied the engineering, and decided to see if it would compare.

The technology used by Dansons improves the simplicity, speed, efficiency and even the flavor of grilled meats due to the searing capability in higher temperature ranges. Thus, I must say that the Louisiana Grill is THE grill of choice. Economical heat source of wood pellets and the flavor enhancement was expected, but the simplicity from start to finish excels over the Traegers I've used in years past. Thanks!"
